2011 Annual Pool Clean-Up Day

Special thanks for the many residents of Killearn Commons that participated in the 2011 Pool Clean-up Day.

The interior of the pool has been redone and the pool deck stained during January and February making the pool looking brand new. Then on a beautiful March 12th Saturday morning, just perfect weather, many volunteers got to work on the 2011 Pool Clean-Up Day.

The volunteers did quite a lot to prepare the pool for its official opening on Saturday, March 19th, in time for Spring Break.

Everything was cleaned up, new ceramic pots in front and back put in place with a collage of flowers. All the doors were painted white. The entrance gate was painted. All pool furniture was pulled out of storage, cleaned and put around the pool. The picnic tables were placed on the picnic patio with new umbrellas. A new drain pipe was placed near the picnic patio and sidewalk to help with drainage. Thirteen Knock-Out roses were planted around the front. 100 bales of pine straw were placed in the flower beds. Etc.

At the end of all this hard work the volunteers were treated with Chick-Fil-A Picnic boxes or Garden Salads that included a Thank You for Volunteering Coupon from Chick-Fil-A for a Free Chick-Fil-A Chicken Sandwich.

During the Pool Clean-Up Day new Pool Security Devices were available to Residents/Members who remembered to come by and get them. If article below for more information.

Volunteers included:

Bill & Anne Duncan; Tom, Jana, Emma & Caroline Wesikotten; Greg & Shannon Hill; Billy, Anne & Kiki Hick; Donna & Ashley Pailet; Jim, Cheryl & Jack Shaw, Fran Harrell; Aryn Huff; Pedro & Antonio Del Valle; Roger & Kelly Bagwell; Bob Ackerman; and others who got away before we could write their name down.

Special thanks to Edith Bowden for providing a case of ice down water.
